Lian Li, a renowned manufacturer of PC components, has recently introduced an innovative product that takes PC setups to the next level. The UNI FAN TL LCD series features case fans with RGB LEDs and 1.6-inch LCD screens, allowing users to display their PC’s performance statistics or showcase looping images and videos.
These LCD fans come in sleek black and white color options and are available in 120 mm and 140 mm sizes. The models equipped with LCD screens are priced at $47 for the 120 mm version and $52 for the 140 mm version, while the non-LCD versions are available for $33 and $36, respectively. To control these fans, users will need a dedicated fan controller capable of accommodating up to seven LCD-equipped fans at once. Customization of the LCD screens can be done through proprietary software designed for RGB lighting and mini-screens.
One unique feature of the UNI FAN TL LCD series is that the screens are only visible on one side of each fan. This means that flipping the fan for optimal airflow would obstruct the screens. To address this, Lian Li offers dedicated “Reverse” versions of each fan that blow air in the opposite direction. It’s important to note that mounting the LCD fans in the wrong direction may cause damage to the screens.
While other companies have experimented with incorporating LCD screens into various internal PC components, Lian Li appears to be the first to integrate LCD screens onto fans. This innovation allows users to have more screens within their PC, displaying vital information and adding a visually striking element to their setup.
