Roman GłogulskiAccording to the latest report from the constant information leaker Ice Universe, Samsung is working on a new display adjustment tool that will allow users to have precise control over color reproduction on the screen. It will also feature a “Vividness” slider to increase color intensity to match the look of previous Samsung smartphones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This tool is expected to be included in a software update.
As per the report, increasing the Vividness value by one notch will match the display colors of the Galaxy S24 series to the default settings of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, while even greater increases will result in colors similar to those of the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
If this report is true, Samsung’s new color controls will certainly please many Galaxy S24 owners who are currently dissatisfied with the “washed-out” appearance of their displays in Vivid mode.
We still don’t know how Samsung will present these controls to Galaxy S24 users during setup. If users have to manually locate and adjust the Vividness slider, it suggests that the default display settings will still feature a controversial “dulled” color palette.
The report also does not mention whether the current Natural and Vivid display modes will still exist alongside the new controls or be replaced. If Samsung keeps the current modes, there should be a clear distinction between them, with Vivid mode also requiring an update to look more vibrant compared to Natural mode.
We still don’t know the exact release date for this update, but hopefully, Samsung will make it available as soon as possible.
