ITM Semiconductor Forecasts Revenue Growth Amidst Increased Demand for Smartphone Components

ITM Semiconductor is anticipating a surge in revenue expansion, primarily driven by the launch of new smartphones by North American clients. As a result, their target price has been revised upwards from ₩28,000 to ₩36,000, with a ‘Buy’ rating being maintained.

Projections for the company indicate a 27% year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year, estimated to reach ₩145.6 billion. It is expected that operating losses will be maintained at ₩2.4 billion during the same period.

According to Changmin Lee, an analyst at KB Securities, the incorporation of sales from new smartphone models from North American clients will drive revenue growth. Additionally, the supply of protection circuits for clamshell foldable phones to domestic customers is set to enhance performance compared to the previous quarter.

Revenue and operating profits for this year are forecasted to be ₩650 billion and ₩7 billion, respectively. Analysts believe that the company will benefit from the expanding smartphone market due to advancements in on-device AI technology.

Lee highlighted that ITM Semiconductor’s battery protection circuit, the ‘PMP (Module Package Protection),’ offers specialized solutions for battery power and heat management. He emphasized that this innovation is expected to lead to increased market penetration among domestic smartphone manufacturers, revenue stabilization for North American clientele, and a rise in demand for high value-added products for on-device AI applications.
