Chinese handset maker Xiaomi also saw an impressive growth of 33.8 percent. It shipped 40.8 million devices and captured a market share of 14.1 percent, surpassing its performance in the same quarter of the previous year.

Transsion, another Chinese major, experienced remarkable growth, with shipments skyrocketing by 84.9 percent. The company shipped 28.5 million units, securing a market share just shy of 10 percent.

Oppo, the fifth top handset maker, witnessed a decline of 8.5 percent. It shipped 25.2 million devices, capturing a market share of 8.7 percent.
