Xbox has announced that on Thursday, February 15th, at 12:00 PT, in a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast, it will unveil its vision for the future. The official announcement states, “Join us for a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. Listen to Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty as they share updates regarding the Xbox business.”
During the podcast, discussions are expected to cover topics related to Xbox first-party releases such as Starfield, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which are rumored to be coming to PlayStation and other platforms soon. Spencer reportedly reassured employees that Microsoft intends to continue producing consoles despite questions about the company’s publishing strategy with other developers.
The news that Xbox plans to release exclusives on platforms like PlayStation has left the gaming community amazed for several weeks. In January, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the company could be a “great publisher on Sony, Nintendo, PC, and Xbox.”
A few days ago, on IGN’s show Unlocked, host Ryan McCaffrey wrote, “The future of Xbox is likely to look very different from the past and present. But right now, we’re witnessing a giant corporation attempting to change the rules of the game in real-time. It might work, but will Microsoft lose 20 years of hard-earned brand loyalty?
