Rozbudowanie infrastruktury ładowania pojazdów elektrycznych za pomocą magazynów energii

Cities around the world are constantly evolving to introduce sustainable transportation solutions. One of the key factors influencing the popularity of electric vehicles is the availability of charging infrastructure within cities. For example, XCharge North America plans to open a “Battery Storage EV Charging Superhub” in Dallas – an electric vehicle charging center with energy storage.

XCharge Europe, the parent company of XCharge North America, has introduced its energy storage-integrated chargers in Germany. Now, it’s time to expand this technology in the American market. The second XCharge installation in the United States will be located in Watters Creek Village in Allen and will be the largest non-Tesla fast charging center in the region.

The Watters Creek Village Superhub will have over 20 charging stations with maximum output powers ranging from 200 to 400 kW per port. However, the most significant feature of this project is the 3 MWh energy storage capacity. This will allow the center’s managers to manage energy demand and facilitate the use of electricity during peak hours.

XCharge’s Net Zero chargers are equipped with liquid-cooled lithium-ion batteries with a specified kWh capacity. With their “plug and play” chargers, there is no need for extensive construction work, and standard industrial sockets of 30/60 kW are sufficient. The charging system offers various operation modes such as Max, Eco, Auto, or Custom. The Eco and Auto modes enable charging the batteries during off-peak hours for energy savings, as well as using energy from the storage during peak hours. Additionally, the energy storage is charged when the charger is not in use, reducing the grid load during peak hours.

XCharge plans to expand its charger series to integrate with solar panels and enable bidirectional or “off-grid” operation.

The development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure is crucial for promoting electromobility. Energy storage-integrated chargers, like those offered by XCharge, represent the future of electric transportation by providing reliable and efficient solutions.
