WhatsApp Pracuje nad Filtrami Ulubionych Kontaktów

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is currently working on a new feature called “favorite contacts filter” that will allow users to focus on their most important conversations and provide greater control and efficiency in their messaging experience.

The new feature has been noticed by experts at WABetaInfo, who report that it will be available in a future WhatsApp Web update with a dedicated filter for conversations.

The new function will enable users to choose their favorite contacts and manually add those they care about the most, allowing easy access through a dedicated filter.

“By allowing users to mark specific contacts as favorites, WhatsApp gives them the ability to prioritize conversations, providing quick and easy access to frequently interacted with contacts,” reads the report.

“Introducing favorite contacts not only simplifies the process of connecting with users, but also adds a layer of personalization, enhancing the messaging experience tailored to individual preferences,” it adds.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is preparing to introduce third-party messaging apps on its platform, in compliance with the European Union’s Digital Markets Directive (DMA) set to take effect in March.

Dick Brouwer, Director of Engineering at WhatsApp, told Wired that the company is ready to provide interoperability on a platform used by over 2 billion users.

“There’s a real tension for us to enable easy interoperability with third-party individuals, while also maintaining the privacy, security, and integrity of WhatsApp. I think we’re pretty happy with where we are,” he said as quoted by Wired.
