WhatsApp Przygotowuje Nową Funkcję “Ulubione Kontakty” na WhatsApp Web

San Francisco, February 12, 2024 – The owner of the WhatsApp application, Meta, is working on a new “favorite contacts” feature, allowing users to prioritize their conversations and offering greater control and efficiency in their messaging experience. The new feature, discovered by WABetaInfo, will appear in a dedicated chat filter in a future update of WhatsApp Web. According to the report, the new feature will allow users to select favorite contacts and manually add those they are most interested in, and then easily access them through the dedicated filter.

By allowing users to mark specific contacts as favorites, WhatsApp enables them to prioritize important conversations, ensuring quick and easy access to the people they frequently engage with, the report stated. Introducing favorite contacts not only simplifies the process of contacting frequently spoken users, but also adds a layer of personalization, allowing customization of the communication experience to individual preferences.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is preparing to introduce third-party messaging apps on its platform long before the implementation of the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) in March. Dick Brouwer, Director of Engineering at WhatsApp, told Wired that the company is ready to introduce interoperability on a platform with over 2 billion users. “There is a real tension between providing an easy way to ensure interoperability with third parties and simultaneously preserving the privacy, security, and integrity of WhatsApp. I think we are quite satisfied with where we are,” he said, as quoted in the report.
