Sztuczna inteligencja przejmie programistów już za 10 lat?

Matthew Applegate, the founder of Creative Computing Club in Suffolk, predicts that artificial intelligence (AI) will replace human programmers within the next 10 years.

According to Applegate, who started the club in 2012, AI “will infiltrate everything – music, writing… but don’t count on it for plumbing. Technology always makes for an exciting journey.”

His predictions come at a time when the House of Lords Select Committee on Communications and Digital urges us to embrace the positive aspects of AI rather than focusing solely on the threats.

The Committee’s report examined significant language models (LLM) that power AI-generating tools such as ChatGPT.

Applegate confirms that “AI has been trained on the popular code repository GitHub, which contains the best and worst examples of code. This allowed it to quickly bypass many initial problems. We still have about 10 years of programming education left.”

The future looks interesting and incredibly promising. While AI may automate certain coding aspects, the key to success will still be human creativity and the ability to think outside the box.

What role will programmers play in the era of AI? That remains to be seen. One thing is certain – the world of technology is constantly evolving, and we must keep up in order to harness all its benefits.
