Nowa era technologii wyświetlaczy na stadionach

Dutch company, Philips Professional Display Solutions (PPDS), introduces its latest series of outdoor displays, the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series, marking its official entry into the outdoor LED display market. Forecasts indicate that the value of this market could reach $29.87 billion by 2032.

The Philips Urban LED 6000 Series was unveiled at the ISE 2024 trade show in Barcelona and will be an integral part of PPDS’s partnership with FC Barcelona. The company will become the official supplier of LED displays and digital boards at the Spotify Camp Nou stadium, which is set to undergo a major renovation by 2026.

The new series of outdoor displays has been designed to provide customers with new creative possibilities. The Philips Urban LED 6000 Series features an impressive brightness of 10,000 nits and a refresh rate of 7680 Hz (refresh rate for LED displays is measured in Hz), ensuring excellent image quality for viewing distances of 10 to 30 meters.

While comparing a display like the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series to a computer monitor is useful for demonstrating its power and required specifications, it is important to understand that these are not direct comparisons. Typical monitor refresh rates range from 60 to 240 Hz, whereas an outdoor display, designed for viewing from a distance, must have a much higher refresh rate.

The new series of displays is certified with an IP65 resistance rating, meaning the panels are water-resistant and can withstand potentially harmful air pollutants. PPDS also claims that they can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C (-4°F) to 50°C (122°F).

As part of PPDS’s commitment to sustainable development, the Philips Urban LED 6000 Series has been optimized for lower energy consumption, using only 280 watts per square meter.

Martijn van der Woude, VP of Global Marketing and Business Development, said, “Not only are we announcing a significant expansion of our company into the outdoor display market with the fantastic new Philips Urban LED 6000 Series, but we are also confirming our partnership as the official supplier of LED displays and digital boards to one of the most successful football clubs in the world, supporting the transformation of one of the most iconic stadiums in the world.”
