Sprawozdanie z nowym systemem operacyjnym Apple – iOS 17 i iPadOS 17

A new report published by Apple presents statistics on the adoption of their latest mobile operating systems. It turns out that the situation for iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 is drastically different from their predecessors.

The adoption of iOS 17 compared to iOS 16 in the same period last year is slightly lower. The new system version is already installed on 76% of iPhones introduced in the last four years, while iOS 16 reached 81% in a similar timeframe. The difference may not be huge, but it is noticeable – perhaps people do not consider iOS 17 and its subsequent updates as significant as they did with iOS 16 last year.

As a result, iOS 16 is still being used on 20% of iPhones introduced in the last four years, while 4% have older system versions. When considering all active iPhones, iOS 17 is present on 66% of them, iOS 16 on 23%, and all previous versions combined make up 11%.

As for iPadOS, the situation is the opposite – iPadOS 17 is more popular than its predecessor last year. It is currently installed on 61% of iPads introduced in the last four years, while iPadOS 16 has a 29% share, and older versions account for 10%.

In the previous year, iPadOS 16 was only present on 53% of devices introduced in the last four years, so this adoption represents a clear increase. Looking at all active iPads, iOS 17 is present on 53% of them, iPadOS 16 on 29%, and the remaining versions on 18%.

Of course, these numbers are certainly better than Android statistics (we assume, as Google has stopped publishing such data), but it makes sense as Apple manages one company that does not support as many diverse devices as the Android ecosystem.
