Omega Seiki i Attero nawiązują współpracę w zakresie recyklingu baterii litowo-jonowych

Omega Seiki Private Ltd (OSPL) announced on Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Attero for the recycling of lithium-ion batteries. As part of this collaboration, OSPL and Attero plan to recycle over 100MWh of batteries within the next 3-4 years, according to OSPL.

The partnership between OSPL and Attero will not only cover the domestic market but also the ASEAN region and Africa, emphasized the company.

Attero, as a provider of e-waste management services, will play a crucial role in transforming batteries into energy storage units. This aligns with the efforts of both companies to responsibly manage the lifecycle of electric vehicle components and provide solutions for EV batteries.

According to OSPL, Attero currently has the capacity to process 145,000 tons of e-waste and 11,000 tons of battery waste annually. This capacity is set to increase to 15,000 tons next month.

The company plans to introduce over 1 GWh of EV batteries into use within the next five years, and in collaboration with Attero, recycle over 100 MWh of batteries within 3-4 years.

“The rise of electric vehicles necessitates a sustainable approach to lithium-ion battery recycling in India. Improper disposal of used batteries not only poses a threat to the environment but also wastes the opportunity to recover valuable materials,” said Nitin Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Attero.
