Google Pixel 8 i Pixel 8 Pro – nowe możliwości i funkcja Circle to Search

Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro recently received an update with new features, including the Circle to Search function, which was introduced during the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event. Along with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphones, users of Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro can now use the Circle to Search feature on their smartphones to conduct searches similar to Google Lens, without switching between apps. The Circle to Search feature, powered by Google’s artificial intelligence, is also expected to come to other flagship smartphones.

As per Google’s previously announced plan, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have been updated to support the Circle to Search feature. A Gadgets 360 team member confirmed that this feature was enabled on their Pixel 8 smartphone without the need for a software update, suggesting that it was remotely enabled by Google.

While users can still use Google Lens by opening the Google app or using Google Assistant, it requires switching from the currently used app. Depending on the app being used, such as Instagram, the currently viewed video may be interrupted and the user will be taken to the home screen. On the other hand, the new Circle to Search feature allows for searches to be conducted without leaving the currently used app.

To use the Circle to Search feature on Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro, users can long-press the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. The phone will freeze the displayed image on the screen, allowing the user to draw or highlight a product or object for visual searching using Google. Text can also be selected for a Google search using a pop-up window.

The company previously announced that the Circle to Search feature will also be available on “select high-end Android smartphones”, in addition to the latest Pixel 8 and Galaxy S24 series starting from Thursday, so other manufacturers’ smartphones are expected to support this feature soon.
