Gogoro rozpocznie współpracę w Chile i Kolumbii z Copec w drugim kwartale 2024 roku

Gogoro Inc., a global leader in battery exchange ecosystems for sustainable mobility solutions in cities, announced today that it will partner with the leading Latin American energy company, Copec, in the second quarter of 2024 to introduce battery exchange and Smartscooters to Chile and Colombia.

The partnership between Gogoro and Copec is a significant step in transforming urban transportation worldwide. Together, we will create accessible solutions for private users and providers delivering sustainable solutions in cities, playing a crucial role in combating climate change and improving the quality of life for all,” said Horace Luke, founder and CEO of Gogoro. He also added that the collaboration with Copec will enable the benefits of electrification to reach broader social groups through the region’s pioneering services.

Gogoro and Copec are working on creating the first Latin American battery exchange network, which will be available at Copec service stations in Santiago, Chile, and Terpel service stations, a subsidiary of Copec, in Bogota, Colombia.

The Gogoro Network cloud service platform utilizes an advanced real-time monitoring system that ensures optimal performance of Smartscooters and batteries, as well as diagnostics, allowing Copec and Gogoro customers to safely and reliably utilize battery exchange.

The key element of the Gogoro ecosystem is an open and interoperable battery exchange platform, which was recognized by Guidehouse Insights in 2023 as the leading company in the lightweight urban vehicle battery exchange industry. Gogoro’s battery exchange is a next-generation intelligent and secure refueling method that continuously optimizes to provide flexibility and universality for users, businesses, and communities. In Taiwan, Gogoro Network serves almost 600,000 users and has over 1.3 million intelligent batteries in circulation, which can be exchanged at over 12,000 battery swap stations located in more than 2,500 locations. With over 450,000 daily battery swaps and over 535 million total swaps, Gogoro has saved over 900,000 tons of CO2 since its inception in 2015.

Copec is a well-established Latin American energy and commercial company headquartered in Chile, operating throughout Latin America through its subsidiary, Terpel. Currently, the company operates over 3,000 service stations and retail stores in Latin America, including the largest electric vehicle charging network in South America, spanning 1,800 kilometers across Chile. To address changes in energy, mobility trends, and retail, Copec established the Copec Wind innovation and new ventures platform in 2019.
