Zoom zapowiada wydanie aplikacji visionOS z nowymi funkcjami

Zoom, the popular video conferencing platform, has announced plans to release its new visionOS app. The app, set to be released on February 2nd, will introduce many new features aimed at enhancing user experience.

One of the key features of visionOS will be “persony” support, allowing users to use a digital avatar during their conversations. The dedicated Zoom app will support the “persony” feature, enabling meeting participants to see their virtual reflections in real-time. Using Augmented Reality (AR) technology, video conversations on Vision Pro will be displayed as a floating window, seamlessly blending into the user’s physical environment.

“Zoom on Vision Pro creates an immersive experience that can be scaled at will, perfect for those who want to feel as if they are in the same room as their colleagues and clients, without the need for additional hardware or setup,” the company explained in a blog post.

With the three-dimensional interface of the visionOS app, users will be able to share 3D files and view objects coming to life in their surroundings. As an example, Zoom mentioned game design, where designers can “collaborate and share the latest character model” with their teams. The ability to share 3D objects will not be available initially, but Zoom has announced that it will be introduced in spring.

Also coming in the spring will be the Team Chat feature and “pinning to the real world.” Team Chat is a competitor to Slack, allowing users to easily share information with their colleagues. The chat feature on the video conferencing platform was introduced in March 2023.

Users of Vision Pro goggles will be able to pin up to five Zoom meeting participants anywhere in their environment. They will also have the option to remove the background of the pinned participants, helping users feel more connected.

Vision Pro will cost $3,499 and will offer nearly 200 dedicated applications, including streaming platforms like Disney+, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, and Crunchyroll, among others. However, it’s worth noting that some big players like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube are missing from the list, which may suggest that some companies initially do not believe in the success of Vision Pro.
