Rowan Atkinson wystawia przepięknego Land Rovera Defendera na aukcję

Known worldwide as the English actor famous for his role as Mr. Bean, Rowan Atkinson is also an avid car collector. Atkinson has entrusted Iconic Auctioneers with the task of finding him one of the rare Land Rover Defender 110 Heritage Edition models produced between 2015 and 2016. The auction house has found a specimen that was delivered to its new owner in 2015. Now, Atkinson has put this model up for sale during the Iconic Auctioneers Race Retro Sale in Stoneleigh, England, scheduled for February 24.

In 2015, Land Rover launched the Defender Celebration Series to celebrate the 67-year production of this off-road vehicle. The series included three stylish versions of the classic Defenders: Heritage, Adventure, and Autobiography.

The Heritage edition, inspired by early Land Rover models, was limited to just 400 units. Each model is characterized by a Grasmere Green body, an Alaskan White roof, and a distinctive retro-style radiator grille, headlight surrounds, and high-strength steel wheels. The seats are covered in cream upholstery with the Heritage logo. The interior is adorned with perforated leather inserts on the steering wheel, gear lever, and aluminum finishing touches on the ventilation grilles, door handles, and locks.

According to the auction house, the vehicle in question has only traveled 3,800 miles since its purchase. It has been regularly serviced, well-maintained, and professionally stored. Atkinson decided to equip the vehicle with a factory-fitted tow bar, air conditioning, and a car alarm, spending approximately $5,421 (£4,278) on accessories.

“Rowan Atkinson is known as a car enthusiast and a fan of Land Rover, so this vehicle was treated as a precious gem and only sporadically used in his personal collection,” said Nick Whale, Chairman of Iconic Auctioneers.

The Defender of Mr. Bean has the potential to be sold for a price ranging between $82,400 and $101,400 (£65,000 and £80,000) at the Stoneleigh Park auction. This won’t be the only rare Land Rover up for sale. During the February auction, one of the 300 Defender 110 V8 models dedicated to the film “No Time To Die” from 2021 will also be exhibited. This limited edition specimen, from its first owner, has only covered 700 miles. It is expected to be sold for a price between $196,500 and $221,800 (£155,000 and £175,000). Undoubtedly, it surpasses the compact Mini.
