Final Fantasy 6 Remake Announcement Becoming More Realistic!

According to market reports, the number of voices calling for a remake of the iconic game Final Fantasy 6 is increasing. Series producer Yoshinori Kitase has expressed his concerns about the response to these appeals, arguing that such a project could take twice as long as the work on the Final Fantasy 7 adaptation.

During an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze, Yoshinori Kitase was asked about the demand for a Final Fantasy 6 remake. According to Kitase (translated by the Shinra Archaeology Department), the development of Final Fantasy 7 and each of its installments took about 10 years. If they were to undertake the creation of an FF6 remake, the creator believes it would take twice as long.

Kitase also emphasized that a Final Fantasy 6 remake would be a much larger project than FF7, due to the number of characters in the game. While there is a group of people within the company eager to take on this challenge, the producer couldn’t respond to these appeals, which greatly worries him.

Final Fantasy 6 was originally released on the Super Nintendo console in 1994, and was later ported to PlayStation in 1999 and Game Boy Advance in 2006. Recently, the game has also been included in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection, alongside remastered versions of Final Fantasy 1-5.

However, there is also information regarding other potential remakes in the series. Last year, Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb reported that Final Fantasy 9 is actually the most likely candidate for a remake. Grubb said, “I can say that I recently heard that a Final Fantasy 9 remake is real and well on its way to becoming a reality.” Gematsu confirmed these reports, stating that a Final Fantasy 9 remake is currently in development.

Could it be that the dreams of Final Fantasy 6 fans will soon come true? Only time will tell if Square Enix decides to take on this challenge and surprises fans of the series with another amazing remake.
