Earthful, a company specializing in plant-based health and nutrition supplements, has successfully raised ₹3.3 crore in a pre-seed funding round. The funding was secured from Green Ivy Venture, along with a group of angel investors including Abhishek Goyal of Tracxn, Jayant Paleti of Darwinbox, and Brij Bhushan of Magicpin.
The co-founders of Earthful, Sudha Gogineni and Veda Gogineni, expressed their plans for utilizing the funds. They aim to invest further in research and development, develop an omni-channel presence, and expand their team. These initiatives will support the company’s mission to provide innovative plant-based nutrition options to consumers.
Earthful, established by the two sisters in 2020, offers a wide range of plant-based health and supplement products. These include vegan protein in four different flavors, multivitamins, and supplements for bone and skin health. The company’s focus on plant-based nutrition is driven by the growing demand for nutritional supplements in India, especially due to the rise in lifestyle diseases. Sudha emphasized that about 75 percent of people suffer from deficiencies in at least one vitamin or mineral, leading to various health concerns. Earthful aims to address this challenge by offering science-backed, plant-based nutrition solutions.
Sudha, who holds a background in chemical engineering from IIT Kharagpur and is an alumnus of ISB Hyderabad, brings valuable experience from her previous roles at ITC Ltd and Uber. Veda, on the other hand, is a biotechnologist from IIT Kharagpur and has previously worked with Deutsche Bank and Meesho.
With this recent funding, Earthful is poised for growth and innovation in the plant-based supplement industry. The company’s commitment to providing high-quality, science-backed nutrition products aligns with the increasing demand for healthier and sustainable options among consumers.
