Apple Original Films Wkracza do Świata Dramatycznego Thrillera “The Lost Bus”

Apple Original Films is in talks to acquire the rights to the dramatic thriller “The Lost Bus,” which is set to star Matthew McConaughey and be directed by Paul Greengrass.

The script for “The Lost Bus” was written by Brad Ingelsby, the creator of the popular series “Mare of Easttown.” The film is based on Lizzie Johnson’s book titled “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire,” which chronicles the events surrounding the Camp Fire in California in 2018 – one of the state’s most devastating wildfires in history. The story focuses on bus driver Kevin McKay and teacher Mary Ludwig, who heroically navigate a school bus through the fire that destroyed the town of Paradise.

“The Lost Bus” is being produced by Jamie Lee Curtis of Comet Pictures and Jason Blum of Blumhouse. The executive producers are Ingelsby, Greg Goodman, Johnson, and Amy Lord.

The project came to fruition thanks to Jamie Lee Curtis, who heard Johnson on NPR and introduced her to Blumhouse, where she has a first-look deal.

This marks another collaboration between McConaughey and Apple TV+ after the announcement last year that he and Woody Harrelson will star in a comedic series created by David West Read for the platform.

McConaughey, represented by William Morris and Kevin Yorn, is known for his roles in films such as Guy Ritchie’s “The Gentlemen” (2019) and his voice work in the upcoming sequel “Sing 2” (2021) and Netflix animated series “Agent Elvis” from last year. Greengrass is renowned for directing films in the Jason Bourne series starring Matt Damon and most recently helmed “News of the World” (2020) with Tom Hanks in the lead.

Ingelsby, who won an Emmy for creating the HBO series “Mare of Easttown” and wrote films like “The Way Back,” is also attached to another Apple Original Films production titled “Echo Valley,” to be directed by Michael Pearce. The film will feature Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney, and Domhnall Gleeson in lead roles.
