Nvidia Wprowadza Nowe Narzędzie do Konwersji Wideo z SDR na HDR

Nvidia has released a new tool called “RTX Video HDR,” which utilizes artificial intelligence for automatic conversion of SDR videos played in a web browser to HDR.

This feature is part of the Nvidia Game Ready Driver software update 551.23 and is available on all GeForce RTX graphics processors. To utilize RTX Video HDR, users must also have an HDR10 compatible monitor and enable HDR in the Windows system.

Nvidia has published a video comparing the effects of this new feature.

“By utilizing the Tensor Core units in GeForce RTX processors, RTX Video HDR allows gamers and creators to achieve the maximum potential of displaying vibrant and dynamic colors on an HDR panel while preserving subtle details that may unintentionally be lost due to video compression,” Nvidia wrote in a blog post.

To enable RTX Video HDR, users should go to the Nvidia Control Panel and navigate to the “Video” tab, then “Adjust video image settings.” In the “RTX Video Enhancement” section, users can enable the “Super Resolution” and “High Dynamic Range” options.

This feature can be useful for individuals who primarily use an HDR monitor for watching online video content, as it automatically converts all SDR content.

Since the feature relies on Nvidia’s artificial intelligence technology, it is dependent on the Tensor Core units available in RTX 20 series or newer graphics processors. Nvidia’s RTX graphics processors also have other AI-powered features such as DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and RTX Video Super Resolution.

DLSS is an image scaling technology that renders games at lower resolutions and then upscales them to higher resolutions such as 4K using artificial intelligence. This reduces the load on the graphics card while maintaining a clear image.

On the other hand, RTX Video Super Resolution, utilizing AI, can enhance the low-quality video resolution in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers up to 4K.

The release of RTX Video HDR coincides with the announcement of Nvidia’s new model, RTX 4070 Ti Super, at CES. RTX 4070 Super was launched on January 17, while the release of RTX 4080 Super is planned for January 31.
