Alfen podpisuje umowę z Vasa Vind w sprawie instalacji systemu magazynowania energii wiatrowej w Szwecji

Alfen has signed an agreement with Vasa Vind, marking its first co-located Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installation at a Swedish wind farm. Under this agreement, Alfen will handle the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of a 20 MW energy storage system (BESS) by the end of 2024. The company will also be responsible for battery servicing.

Once operational, the Alfen energy storage system will be connected to the same grid point as Vasa Vind’s wind farms in the Stromsund municipality. This system will enhance the stability and flexibility of the local and national power grid and will be used in the Swedish market for ancillary services, including providing fast frequency response (FFR). Additionally, the system will be capable of “black start” for the wind farm, meaning it can restart the farm in the event of a power outage or grid failure using the stored energy in the Alfen energy storage system.

“We are excited to partner with Vasa Vind for the installation of our first co-located battery energy storage system at a wind farm in Sweden and to continue helping our customers meet the growing demand for renewable energy,” said Stephanie Schockaert, Commercial Director of Alfen’s Energy Storage Systems division. “Our strong technical knowledge in grid management, combined with a diverse portfolio of solutions, will help Vasa Vind and the Swedish ancillary services market to enhance the stability and flexibility of local and national power grids.”
