Trzy filmy, które warto obejrzeć w lutym

February is the shortest month of the year, even in leap years. It is often lacking in terms of the number of new movie releases compared to other months. Nevertheless, there are three movies that are worth watching in February. One of them is an original Netflix production, which means you don’t have to leave your home to see it.

Our movie recommendations for February include a new spy comedy, an animated story, and a road movie by Ethan Coen that also serves as a crime comedy.

Argylle

Bryce Dallas Howard has spent a lot of time developing her career as a director, so it’s exciting to see her back in the lead role in “Argylle,” directed by Matthew Vaughn. Howard portrays Elly Conway, a lonely crime novelist who created a new James Bond-like character named Argylle (Henry Cavill from “The Witcher”). Argylle is the man of Elly’s dreams, but unfortunately, he is not real. On the other hand, Aiden (Sam Rockwell) is a real spy whose latest mission is to protect Elly.

It turns out that Elly is too talented in her novels, and spy agencies are convinced that she is sharing real information worth killing for. The film also stars Bryan Cranston as Ritter, Catherine O’Hara as Ruth, Dua Lipa as LaGrange, Ariana DeBose as Keira, John Cena as Wyatt, Samuel L. Jackson as Alfred Solomon, Sofia Boutella as Saba Al-Badr, and Richard E. Grant as Fowler.

“Argylle” will hit theaters on February 2nd.

Orion and the Darkness

The next DreamWorks Animation film, “Orion and the Darkness,” bypasses theaters and will be available directly on Netflix. The screenplay was written by Charlie Kaufman, the author of “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” and tells the story of Orion (Jacob Tremblay), a child enslaved by his fears. Nothing scares Orion more than the darkness. So, the literal embodiment of darkness (Paul Walter Hauser from “BlackKkKlansman”) visits Orion to see if he can overcome his fears and change his life.

The voice cast includes Angela Bassett as Sweet Dreams, Ike Barinholtz as Light, Natasia Demetriou as Dream, Golda Rosheuvel as Unexplained Noises, Nat Faxon as Insomnia, Aparna Nancherla as Silence, Carla Gugino as Orion’s Mom, Matt Dellapina as Orion’s Dad, Jack Fisher as Richi Panichi, and Werner Herzog as the Narrator.

“Orion and the Darkness” will arrive on Netflix on February 2nd.

Drive-Away Dolls

Although there are no new films from the Coen Brothers on the horizon, Ethan Coen returns to theaters next month with his new film, “Drive-Away Dolls,” which he directed and co-wrote with his wife, Tricia Cooke. Margaret Qualley plays Jamie, an abandoned lesbian who is fed up with her life in a small town. Geraldine Viswanathan stars as Jamie’s best friend, Marian, who is also determined to make a change in her life.

When Jamie and Marian decide to rent a car for an impulsive trip to Tallahassee, Florida, Curlie (Bill Camp) accidentally hands them a vehicle that happens to contain something very valuable to Senator Channel (Matt Damon). Even before discovering this fact, dangerous men working for the senator begin to pursue them. The film also stars Pedro Pascal, Colman Domingo, Beanie Feldstein, and Joey Slotnick.

“Drive-Away Dolls” will be released in theaters on February 23rd.
