Vodafone i Microsoft łączą siły w ramach ogromnego projektu sztucznej inteligencji

Vodafone Group has entered into a ten-year partnership with Microsoft to bring generative artificial intelligence and the knowledge of the tech giant’s cloud to businesses, public sector organizations, and consumers in Europe and Africa, where the operator operates.

The operator plans to invest $1.5 billion in cloud services and customer-focused artificial intelligence in collaboration with Microsoft. Vodafone will use OpenAI technology on the Azure platform to streamline operations and sell more Microsoft services to business customers, which is one of its priorities.

It is worth noting that global smartphone shipments increased by 8% in the fourth quarter of 2023, reaching 320 million units. This marks the end of seven consecutive quarters of decline, with Apple surpassing Samsung in first place.

A representative from Canalys noted that the change in leadership in the largest consumer electronics market was driven by Apple’s record market share and first place in annual statistics, which “definitely impacted Samsung’s ranking.”

Canalys analysts pointed out that the iPhone has shown resilience in the past two years due to stable demand in the high-end segment, but competition in China poses a challenge for sustained growth.

On the other hand, Samsung has entered into a multi-year partnership with Google Cloud, which includes equipping the latest Galaxy S24 smartphones with generative artificial intelligence capabilities.

According to Counterpoint Research, more than 1 billion smartphones with generative artificial intelligence technology will be shipped between 2024 and 2027. Samsung has adopted Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 solutions, which promise innovative AI on-device experiences.

Canalys Manager, Amber Liu, suggests that Samsung’s move could herald a rebirth as an innovation leader.
