Intel is introducing a new processor called Intel 300, which replaces the older Pentium Gold series. However, there are not many changes compared to its predecessor. The new processor has the same specifications as the Pentium Gold G7400, including two cores that can operate at a frequency of up to 3.9 GHz. The increase in clock speed by 200 MHz does not significantly improve performance.
The Intel 300 has identical specifications to the Pentium Gold G7400:
– Configuration: 2C/4T
– Lithography: Intel 7
– Architecture: Raptor Lake
– Clock Speed: 3.9 GHz
– Cache Memory: 6 MB
– Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 710
– RAM Support: DDR5-4800, DDR4-3200
– TDP: 46 W
– Platform: LGA 1700
Performance test results show minimal differences between the Intel 300 and Pentium Gold G7400. The new processor is only a few points better in the Cinebench 2024 benchmark. Overall, the Intel 300 could have not been developed without significantly impacting performance.
However, it is worth noting that Intel has also unveiled a new 14th generation processor series known as Raptor Lake-S Refresh. A comparison between the current and previous generations reveals more interesting information. For more details, see the related video material.
