Apple Vision Pro nie będzie miało dedykowanej aplikacji Netflix.

Apple Vision Pro Will Not Have a Dedicated Netflix App

2024-01-18

Apple Vision Pro, an augmented reality headset, will include apps for several other popular streaming services, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, ESPN, Max, Paramount Plus, Peacock, and ESPN. Users of Apple Vision Pro will be able to watch Netflix through the headset, but they will lose features such as offline viewing, 3D movies, and cinema mode.

During the presentation of Apple Vision Pro, Apple focused mainly on the entertainment aspect of the headset. In addition to a vast library of streaming apps, Apple Vision Pro will allow users to record and watch 3D movies. Many companies have joined the project, but notorious Netflix is missing.

According to Bloomberg reports, Netflix will not have a dedicated app on Apple Vision Pro. Netflix subscribers will still be able to watch content from the streaming platform, but they will have to do so through a web browser.

Netflix has chosen not to create a native app for Apple Vision Pro. The company didn’t even decide to port its iPad app to the headset. Netflix stated, “Our members will be able to use Netflix through a web browser on Vision Pro, much like how they can use Netflix on Macs.”

While Netflix is accessible through a browser, it is not as good as a dedicated app. The browser experience for Netflix doesn’t support offline viewing and may have a lower resolution than dedicated apps. Fans of 3D movies will have to look for other options.

The whole situation reminds me of the times using a Windows phone. I am well aware of the problem of a popular service not having an app on a specific device. Therefore, I have some advice for loyal Apple users who do not have a dedicated Netflix app on Apple Vision Pro.
