Apple announced its Black Unity collection for the year 2024 on Wednesday as part of Black History Month celebrations. The collection, featuring a floral theme, includes the Apple Watch Black Unity Sport Band, wallpaper for the iPhone and iPad, and animated watch faces.
The band is now available to customers worldwide through the Apple website and app, and will be introduced in selected Apple stores starting on January 29th in the United States. The price of the band is $49.
According to the company, a special process was used this year to create the watch band, ensuring that “no two bands are identical.” The floral pattern incorporates red, yellow, and green as the main colors. The words “Truth, Strength, Unity” are engraved on the buckle, and the band has a carbon finish. The vibrant colors also appear on the new watch face called Unity Bloom, where users can choose between two different patterns: single or full floral bloom. When you raise your wrist, the colors flow on the display like blossoming flowers. To access the new watch face designs, you need to have the latest version of WatchOS.
If you own an iPhone or iPad, the Unity Bloom wallpaper will be available for download on the lock screen next week. iPhone models must be running iOS 17.3 or newer, starting from the iPhone Xs, while iPad users should also be updated to the iPad with iPadOS 17.3. Compatible devices include sixth-generation iPads or newer, iPad Mini (at least fifth-generation), iPad Air (from the third generation), and second-generation iPad Pro or newer (both 12.9-inch and 11-inch versions).
