Zmiany w płatnościach za transport publiczny w Singapurze od 2024 roku

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has recently announced that starting from June 1, 2024, older stored value cards will no longer be accepted in the public transport payment system. This poses a problem for passengers still using the older EZ-Link Adult Cards and NETS FlashPay Cards. However, the Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) has introduced a card exchange program to assist these users in a smooth transition.

Under the new program, NETS FlashPay cards and older EZ-Link Adult Cards can still be used until June 1, 2024, but after this date, they will no longer be accepted for fare payments. Some passenger groups, such as senior citizens, students, and individuals with disabilities, will be exempt from these changes.

For holders of EZ-Link Adult Cards, the process of updating to the SimplyGo system is simple. You can update your card at any ticket machine, SimplyGo Ticket Office, or Ticketing Service Centre and continue using the same card.

For holders of NETS FlashPay cards, the replacement process is slightly different. You can visit one of the 44 SimplyGo Ticket Office branches to exchange your FlashPay card for a NETS Prepaid Card. The remaining value on the old cards will be refunded, and you will receive a new NETS Prepaid Card for free. The new card can be managed using the NETS app on your phone, making it easy to top up, monitor transactions, and block the card if necessary.

Both the old EZ-Link Adult Cards and NETS FlashPay Cards can still be used for motor-related payments, such as Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) fees and parking. However, if you plan to use your EZ-Link Adult Card for motor-related payments, it should not be updated to the SimplyGo system. NETS FlashPay cards can still be used for motor-related payments and purchases at NETS acceptance points without the need for card replacement.

NETS has partnered with TransitLink to provide convenient locations for exchanging FlashPay cards for NETS Prepaid Cards. This move aligns with the LTA’s initiative towards account-based ticketing, allowing passengers to use a seamless payment system. Alternatively, cardholders can choose the NETS ATM contactless card for transport services.

The NETS Prepaid Card offers a convenient and efficient way of managing funds. By storing data in a linked NETS account rather than directly on the card, it can be easily topped up, transactions can be monitored, and cards can be blocked through the NETS app on your phone.

To check if your card is a NETS FlashPay Card or a NETS Prepaid Card, you can look at the logo located in the bottom right corner of the card. FlashPay cards are marked with the NETS FlashPay logo, while NETS Prepaid cards have the NETS contactless logo.
