Stanisława Ryster assesses changes in TVP. She talks about her dreams

For many years, Stanisława Ryster has been critical of Polish television, especially Telewizja Polska (TVP). However, now, after the recent changes in TVP, her attitude may change. Although she still does not tune in to her former employer’s channels, there is a chance that in the future she might even accept an invitation to participate in the popular show “Pytanie na śniadanie” (Question for Breakfast).

In an interview with journalist Bartosz Pańczyk from the Plotek portal, Ryster expressed her opinion on the transformations in Telewizja Polska. Her previous narrative was full of criticism and disapproval towards the station, but now there is a glimmer of hope. She says she could start watching TVP again, but she wants it to be a place that is not filled with politics. She would like the television to primarily focus on entertainment and educational programs, such as “Wielka gra” (The Great Game).

Ryster does not spare criticism for the current television formula. According to the journalist, the omnipresent politics on air is the main problem. She wishes for the television to not be a tool for political battles, but above all a place where one can relax and enjoy high-quality entertainment.

Stanisława Ryster, a well-known icon of TVP, has had many criticisms of modern television over the years, accusing it mainly of superficiality and a focus on superficial values. In one interview, she said she couldn’t imagine working in today’s television because it produces nonsense. In a conversation with “Fakt” in 2020, she also criticized the television’s obsession with appearance, clothing costs, and celebrity hairstyles. However, now she seems to be open to changes and dreams of TVP ceasing to be a tool for political battles and focusing on developing programs and high-quality entertainment.
