Apple rozszerza swoją usługę Fitness+ o nowe medytacje i treningi

Apple is continuing to develop its Fitness+ service by introducing new meditations and workouts, including collaborations with high-profile celebrities. This initiative aims to capitalize on people’s increased interest in health, which typically grows after the New Year. The new offerings are designed to be accessible to individuals at different stages of their fitness and well-being journeys, stated Jay Blahnik, Apple’s vice president of fitness technologies.

Competition in the digital fitness service sector is fierce, especially in the post-New Year period. Peloton, one of the major players in this market, recently announced a partnership with TikTok to deliver content on this popular social media platform. This move is an effort by Peloton to combat declining user engagement and a shrinking user base.

However, the increase in subscription numbers during the New Year period can be short-lived. Trace Galloway, Chief Strategy Officer at Vindicia, noted that subscriber numbers typically decline at the beginning of the year. Customers often reevaluate the need for their fitness subscriptions once they achieve their health goals. To retain these lost users, providers may offer convenient subscription pause options.

According to a study conducted by PYMNTS Intelligence, there is particularly strong demand for digital fitness training among younger generations. 30% of Gen Z respondents and 27% of millennials use activity tracking devices. Additionally, consumers living in cities are more inclined to utilize digital health options compared to suburban and rural residents.

Currently, Strava ranks first among PYMNTS’ fitness app providers, while Peloton occupies the ninth spot. Factors such as multi-channel availability, user numbers, and app downloads are considered in the ranking.

Apple’s expansion of the Fitness+ offering demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering comprehensive digital fitness solutions. With new collaborations and offerings, Apple aims to meet the diverse needs of users and maintain its position in an increasingly competitive market.
