Apple releases iOS 17.2.1 update causing cellular connectivity issues

The new iOS 17.2.1 update from Apple, which was supposed to fix the battery drain issue, has caused a new problem. Users are reporting that after installing this update, they are unable to connect to cellular networks on various iPhone models.

European users were relieved to read in the release notes for iOS 17.2.1 that the update was supposed to fix the battery drain problem. Unfortunately, it seems that the fix is not universal, as users from other regions are still experiencing battery drain issues. And now, the latest problem has emerged – the inability to connect to cellular networks.

Issues regarding the lack of cellular connectivity have been reported on Apple’s Support Community Discussions platform. Frustrated users have written, “After updating my iPhone to iOS 17.2.1, I can no longer connect to my network provider. I tried resetting, but it still doesn’t work! Very frustrating. I used to trust Apple and iPhones for years, but now I’m not so sure.”

If you have also encountered cellular connectivity issues after updating to iOS 17.2.1, you can try resolving it by resetting network settings in the Settings app. It is also worth noting that some iPhone 15 models have temperature issues, which Apple fixed with the iOS 17.0.3 update.

Apple has not yet confirmed this problem, and the cause is unknown. However, it is expected that the upcoming iOS 17.3 update, currently in beta testing, will solve these issues, as well as other bugs and performance improvements.

The release of iOS 17.3 is planned for January, where more fixes are expected, as well as the introduction of new features. In the meantime, users can refer to detailed instructions on troubleshooting network issues in iOS 17.

Our editorial team will keep you updated on the updates when Apple resumes beta testing for iOS 17.3 after the holiday period.
