New Verizon Partnership with Apple Roadside Assistance

Verizon has announced a new partnership with Apple’s Roadside Assistance, providing iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 owners with extended protection and peace of mind on the road. This collaboration allows Verizon customers with iOS 17.2 or newer software to connect to Apple’s Roadside Assistance through the satellite SOS feature.

Previously, Apple had an exclusive partnership with AAA, limiting the use of this feature for non-AAA members or those living in areas where the service is unavailable. However, with Verizon now onboard as a new provider, iPhone users have a greater choice when it comes to roadside assistance.

After purchasing an iPhone 14 or iPhone 15, Apple offers free emergency support via satellite signal and Roadside Assistance through satellite communication for a specified period. iPhone 14 owners can enjoy three years of coverage, thanks to Apple’s latest extension, while iPhone 15 users receive two years of free support.

To utilize this feature, users in the United States can simply send a text message to AAA or Verizon with their road situation details. This allows users to receive assistance without relying on cellular connection. However, it is important to note that the actual cost of roadside assistance service will still be charged to non-AAA affiliated Verizon or AAA members.

It is also worth mentioning that the existing Verizon Roadside Assistance service provided by Signature Motor Club is available for a monthly subscription fee of $4.99 per line on the account. This subscription includes various services such as jump-starting a car or fuel delivery. Additionally, Verizon offers pay-per-use options for those without a subscription plan.

The addition of Verizon to Apple’s Roadside Assistance has been well-received, as it gives users more options and may eliminate the need for AAA subscription or unnecessary one-time fees. We hope that other telecommunications operators and roadside assistance providers will be available through the iPhone’s satellite system to ensure maximum safety for drivers.

By joining forces, Verizon and Apple strengthen the capabilities of their services and prioritize the safety and convenience of iPhone users on the road.
