ProLogium’s Solid-State Battery Factory in Taoyuan Marks a Milestone in Battery Innovation

ProLogium Technology, a leading innovator in solid-state battery technology, celebrated the grand opening of its Taoke factory in Taoyuan, Taiwan on January 23rd. This significant event marked the establishment of the world’s first Giga-scale solid-state lithium ceramic battery facility. Distinguished guests, including Chih-Ching Yang, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Franck Paris, Director of the French Office in Taipei, and Shan-zheng Zhang, Mayor of Taoyuan City, were present to witness this groundbreaking development.

The Taoke factory showcases ProLogium’s advancements in battery manufacturing technology and the commercial viability of solid-state batteries, with a particular focus on electric vehicles. The highlight of the facility is the 106Ah solid-state battery, which demonstrates ProLogium’s commitment to overcoming technological barriers and driving the battery industry towards a net-zero emissions future.

Strategic partners such as Mercedes-Benz and POSCO were also in attendance, underscoring the significance of this achievement. ProLogium’s collaboration with these prominent industry players highlights the global recognition of the company’s solid-state battery technology.

With a production capacity of 2GWh, the Taoke factory has the potential to supply batteries for up to 26,000 electric vehicles. Production has already commenced, and there are plans to distribute ProLogium batteries worldwide. This development not only demonstrates ProLogium’s ability to meet global demand but also promotes the creation of 1,200 job opportunities in Taoyuan.

The Taoke factory serves as a model for future expansion, including the establishment of a similar plant in Dunkirk, France. This aligns perfectly with France’s “France 2030” plan, which aims for efficient transportation and sustainable solutions. The French government, represented by Franck Paris, expressed enthusiasm for the Taiwan-France cooperation and the positive impact it will have on the global green economy.

ProLogium’s commitment to performance, cost-effectiveness, and resource circulation is evident in its “P-C-R Next-Generation Solid-State Battery” solution. The Taoke factory is equipped with innovative technologies, including continuous wet coating for solid-state electrolytes, which greatly enhances production efficiency and quality. ProLogium’s patented technologies, covering cell structure and process design, have also paved the way for increased manufacturing precision and improved yield rates.

Founded in 2006, ProLogium has made significant progress in solid-state battery research and manufacturing. With over 710 global patents, the company is poised to become a major supplier to automakers worldwide starting in 2024 from its Taoyuan gigafactory. This milestone achievement propels ProLogium towards global market dominance in the field of solid-state battery innovation.
