Nowe Golf GTE – Aktualizacje i Zasięg Elektryczny

Volkswagen has announced an update to the eighth-generation Golf, but unfortunately it will not be available in America. This may be disappointing news for readers. However, the latest version of the hybrid GTE comes with some very attractive updates to its electric drivetrain.

As part of the planned upgrades for 2025, Volkswagen has decided to increase the capacity of the GTE’s battery to 19.7 kWh, which is almost double the previous model’s 10.6 kWh battery. The new battery will also charge faster, with the ability to charge at 11 kW of alternating current and 50 kW of direct current power. As a result, the Golf GTE will be able to travel 100 km (62 miles) solely on electric power, making it an ideal car for most users who primarily rely on electric drivetrains. The manufacturer has not provided details on the power of the combustion engine and the electric motor, but the car will have a combined power of 268 horsepower (200 kW) when both sources of energy are maximized. The Golf eHybrid, a lower-powered variant, will also be introduced to the market alongside the GTE model and will have a total power output of 201 horsepower (150 kW).

The new Golf hybrids will be equipped with the latest MIB4 software platform from VW, which provides better performance and ease of use with an updated interface. This technology debuted in the fully electric ID.7 model (and will also be featured in the new Passat), which has been available in limited quantities in Europe since late 2023. In November, we had the opportunity to test the ID.7 with the MIB4 system, which seemed to work quite well. Personally, I have not yet encountered any ID.7 cars on the road in Germany.

The exterior of the Golf GTE resembles the GTI version, but it’s completely electric! The interior of the car is typical of the GTI/ED – conservative, finished with checkered fabric, and very well-equipped for an economical hatchback. As for the price of the GTE in Europe, we do not yet have full information, but it will likely be announced soon.
