Samsung has announced the expansion of its self-repair program, allowing consumers to fix their Samsung devices on their own. The program will now be extended to include a wider range of products, models, and parts, making it easier for consumers to repair their broken devices. The introduction of the self-repair program took place in 2022 and offers full access to online repair instructions, replacement parts, and repair tools through third-party resources.

The latest expansion of the program covers 14 models of Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and computers, including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy Book 2 series. The program also includes home entertainment products, with a focus on 20 visualization products.

Owners of supported Galaxy phones and tablets now have the capability to perform self-repairs on speakers, SIM trays, side buttons, and volume buttons. This addition complements existing parts such as display modules, glass backs, and charging ports. Galaxy Book users will now be able to replace left and right speakers and fans, in addition to existing repairs related to the screen, battery, power button with fingerprint reader, touchpad, front and back casing, and rubber feet.

The mobile products already covered by Samsung’s self-repair program include the Galaxy S22, S21, S20 series, and Galaxy Tab S7 Plus.

The new expansion of Samsung’s self-repair program is in conjunction with the growing collaboration between Samsung and Encompass Supply Chain Solutions. The company provides replacement parts and logistics solutions for home appliances and consumer electronics.

For those who prefer not to repair their devices themselves, Samsung recently made it easier to access assistance for customers in underserved areas. In October, the company partnered with Battery Plus in the United States to provide timely warranty repair services for Galaxy smartphones. This is a separate program aimed at 80% of the US population that has access to 2,000 Samsung Authorized Service Centers (ASCs) offering a two-hour repair service.
