Axion Space 3: Pierwszy astronauta z Turcji na Międzynarodowej Stacji Kosmicznej

The four-member crew of Axion Space 3 mission, including the first Turkish astronaut, has arrived at the International Space Station (ISS). Their mission is set to conclude around February 3rd when they will depart from the ISS and their capsule will land off the coast of Florida after reentering the atmosphere.

The Crew Dragon capsule, which transported the crew, docked with the ISS at around 11:40 AM Polish time, approximately 400 km above the Earth’s surface. The Axion Space 3 mission aims to conduct over 30 scientific experiments, including research on the effects of space travel on human health.

Studying the impact of space travel on the human body is extremely important. Prolonged exposure to microgravity has various consequences for astronauts’ health, such as muscle mass reduction, weakened bones, and hormonal changes. These studies help scientists better understand these effects and develop strategies to protect the health of astronauts during long-duration space missions, such as planned trips to Mars.

The Axion Space 3 mission also aims to test different space technologies and develop resources necessary for survival and functioning in space. Each subsequent mission to the International Space Station brings new data and contributes to the development of technologies that will be crucial for space exploration in the future.

The arrival of the Axion Space 3 mission crew at the ISS is another milestone in the study of space and space exploration. As a result, the first Turkish astronaut becomes part of the history of space conquest and opens new possibilities for future generations of space researchers.
