Apple Vision Pro: A New Era in Entertainment

Apple has unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the highly anticipated Vision Pro headset, positioning it as the “ultimate entertainment device” to capture the hearts of tech enthusiasts. However, early adopters of the device may find themselves disappointed as three major entertainment apps are notably absent from its lineup: Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify.

While Netflix has no immediate plans to develop an app specifically for the Vision Pro, users can still access the streaming service through the device’s web browser, similar to how it can be accessed on Macs. Spotify, known for its public disputes with Apple over app store policies, has not announced any intentions to release a dedicated Vision Pro app.

Meanwhile, Google’s YouTube will also be accessible via the built-in web browser of the headset, but no dedicated app has been developed for seamless integration. Despite these notable omissions, the Vision Pro does boast an impressive collection of streaming apps, including Disney+, ESPN+, Amazon Prime Video, and more.

Beyond streaming services, Apple Vision Pro users will have access to an extensive library of over 150 3D-immersive movies, featuring blockbusters like “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Dune,” and “Avengers: Endgame.” This wide selection aims to provide users with a truly immersive cinematic experience.

The Vision Pro is now available for pre-order, with its official release scheduled for Friday, February 2nd. Apple enthusiasts can purchase the headset from any U.S. Apple Store or through the online Apple Store. As Apple’s most significant product launch since the 2015 Apple Watch, the Vision Pro faces stiff competition in the VR and AR market. Meta’s Quest 3, priced at a more affordable $500, stands as a noteworthy contender in this rapidly evolving industry.
