Moto G 5G (2024): Details of the Design Leak

In recent leaks, information has emerged that Motorola is preparing to launch the Moto G 5G (2024) as the successor to this year’s Moto G 5G (2023). Although the company has not officially confirmed the arrival of this new model, leaks and rumors continue to persist. Rendered images of the alleged phone have appeared online, giving us a glimpse of what to expect.

The leaks of images and 360-degree videos, shared by “insider” Steve H. McFly (@OnLeaks) and described on the portal MySmartPrice, show the alleged design of the Moto G 5G (2024). The phone seems to have a similar design to its predecessor, with flat sides and slightly curved edges. The front of the device reveals a flat screen with thin bezels and a slightly thicker bottom panel.

According to the report, the Moto G 5G (2024) is expected to feature a 6.5-inch screen, similar to the Moto G 5G (2023). Rumors also suggest that it will share other display specifications with the previous model, such as a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) LCD panel, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 269ppi.

The leaked rendered images also provide a look at the design of the rear panel of the Moto G 5G (2024). A rectangular camera module can be seen, similar to the one found on the Moto G 5G (2023). However, the new model appears to have more rounded corners. The camera module is located in the upper left corner of the rear panel and includes two vertically arranged circular camera units and an elongated LED flash unit. Additionally, the front-facing camera sensor is expected to be housed in a dot-shaped punch-hole cutout at the top of the screen.

In terms of dimensions, the Moto G 5G (2024) is said to measure 164.4mm x 74.9mm x 8.2mm, slightly larger compared to its predecessor, which measured 163.94mm x 74.98mm x 8.39mm. The leaked images also reveal the placement of the volume control button and power button on the right edge, while the left edge houses the SIM card tray. The top edge of the phone features a single microphone, and the bottom edge is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker grille.

Although the release date of the Moto G 5G (2024) is still unknown, these design leaks have given us an early glimpse of what may be available in the upcoming Motorola 5G smartphone.
