Tech Company Implements Private 5G Network for Smart Agricultural Project in Korea

Tech company HFR, Inc. has recently implemented a comprehensive Private 5G network for the “Smart Agricultural Product Distribution and Storage Technology Development Project” in Korea. Sponsored by the Korea Communications Agency (KCA), this project aims to enhance agricultural product sorting and packaging through the use of robotics, sensors, autonomous vehicles, and 5G connectivity.

In the first phase of the project, HFR successfully established automated sorting and packaging processes within the Private 5G network. They also optimized environmental controls to ensure ideal storage and distribution conditions. These advancements have greatly improved operational efficiency and capabilities at a state-of-the-art agricultural fulfillment and distribution center.

The second phase of the project is planned to further advance the technology and introduce additional features between 2024 and 2026, with the goal of commercialization.

HFR’s expertise in Private 5G technology has played a crucial role in the success of this project. The company utilized their own technological innovations to design and deploy the network, which underwent rigorous testing and certification by an accredited institution in October of last year.

Cho Beom-Geun, Head of HFR’s Product and Service Division, highlights the importance of Private 5G networks in developing communication infrastructure within the industrial ecosystem. He believes that HFR’s Private 5G solution will not only expand into various businesses in the future but also enable digital transformation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and public institutions.
