China Dominates 5G Network Construction with Over 3.28 Million Base Stations

China continues to lead in the construction of 5G networks, solidifying its position as a global telecommunications leader. According to official data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China has surpassed 3.28 million 5G base stations as of the end of November. This number represents 28.5 percent of the country’s total mobile base stations.

The number of 5G users in China has also seen a significant increase. The three major telecommunications companies in the country—China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom—have a combined total of approximately 1.73 billion mobile phone users. Out of these users, 771 million have already adopted 5G services. This marks a net increase of 210.4 million 5G mobile phone users since the end of last year, accounting for an impressive 44.7 percent of the total mobile phone user base.
