Nvidia is preparing to launch the new GeForce RTX 4000 SUPER models, which has generated a lot of excitement among gamers who are eager to get their hands on more powerful hardware at attractive prices. However, what many may not know is that these announcements have also had an impact on older models, such as the GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, which have been phased out. As a result, the GeForce RTX 4070 is now available at a reduced price.
Nvidia has lowered the price of the GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, which was first released in April 2023. Initially priced at 3199 PLN, it was considered a favorable proposition in the mid-range performance category. The card is designed for gaming at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, although there are concerns that the 12GB VRAM may prove insufficient in the future.
Now, the GeForce RTX 4070 seems even more enticing. While it is being replaced by the new GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER model, the manufacturer has decided to simultaneously lower the price of the standard version, which now costs $549 instead of $599.
Price reductions are also visible in Poland. The cheapest versions of the GeForce RTX 4070 can be purchased for 2599-2699 PLN (prices from Morele store). For better, more advanced models, one will need to spend around 2700-3000 PLN.
Is it worth buying the GeForce RTX 4070 now? According to performance rankings, it is very similar to the competing Radeon RX 7800 XT model. In standard rasterization, Nvidia’s card offers slightly worse performance but makes up for it with Ray Tracing enabled. Another interesting alternative could be the Radeon RX 7900 GRE, which theoretically is only intended for the OEM market. It is also worth noting that AMD cards come with a whopping 16GB of VRAM, which could prove to be a big advantage in the future.
Choosing a good graphics card in the price range of 2500-3000 PLN is not easy due to the wide variety of competitive models. Especially considering that the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER will be available on the market starting from January 16, with prices starting at 2999 PLN.
