Google is introducing a new feature to Android called Quick Share, which will enable users to easily share files across different platforms. This tool is the result of collaboration with Samsung, who has a similar application with the same name.
The previous standard for file sharing on mobile devices was often limited to the ecosystems of a specific company, such as Apple and their AirDrop feature. However, Quick Share aims to break down this division and allow users to quickly transfer files between different brands of devices, such as Motorola, Samsung, or Xiaomi.
Google also assures that Quick Share will protect user privacy by allowing them to choose which contacts can see their device as an option for file sharing. This similarity to Apple’s solution is aimed at providing users with greater security.
The Android update that will introduce this new feature will be available in February. It is not yet known whether it will be a global update or initially available only in selected countries.
