Google zmienia nazwę swojego chatbota AI Bard na Gemini i wprowadza wiele nowych funkcji

Google recently announced several updates in their blog post, including the renaming of their AI chatbot Bard to Gemini, the introduction of a new Gemini application, and the release of the advanced large language model Gemini Advanced along with a premium subscription.

Bard, previously known as Google’s conversational generative AI assistant, competed with ChatGPT from OpenAI. It allowed users to access AI capabilities online to generate images and text content based on their input data.

Do you know why Google took the drastic step of renaming its popular chatbot to Gemini? CEO Sundar Pichai recently provided explanations about this decision during his latest interview.

In an interview with CNBC, Pichai explained the motivation behind the name change, stating, “Gemini represents our overall strategy of developing our most efficient and secure AI model. Bard was the primary way users interacted directly with our models, so transitioning to Gemini is natural because it directly relates to the Gemini model.”

“I also believe it will serve as a channel through which we continuously improve our models, providing users with a direct experience. That’s why we concluded that the name change was appropriate.”
