Rath National School and Holy Family faced off in a dramatic clash as the Second Round of LaoisToday Schools QuizCast got underway. Initially, we thought that Holy Family had emerged victorious, but we soon realized that we had misjudged the answer given by Rath. We believed that Dungarvan was the capital of County Waterford, but it turned out that the children knew better than us!
Before the merger of Waterford County Council and Waterford City Council in 2014, Dungarvan WAS the county town and administrative center of County Waterford – but now it is Waterford City, as stated by Rath NS.
A quick playoff was organized, and Rath emerged as the winners.
