Nowoczesne rozwiązania w zakresie magazynowania energii w Two Rivers

The energy company from Nebraska continues to believe that there is a need for additional energy supply in Two Rivers. Jarrod Pitts, the Director of Development at Tenaska, presented a proposal for the construction of an energy storage facility with batteries at a city council meeting yesterday evening.

Pitts describes this project as “a battery system connected to the power grid, which would be charged during times of excess energy availability and then utilized during periods of peak demand.” The facility would be built in the Woodland Industrial Park, next to Highway 310. It would consist of several enclosures housing the batteries, surrounded by fencing for security purposes.

According to Pitts, if the project is approved by the city, this year will be dedicated to obtaining necessary permits and selecting the final technology. “This will allow us to start construction in the third quarter of next year,” he explained. “The construction process will take about twelve months, so we expect the project to be fully functional by the end of 2026.”

Members of the city council had various questions regarding the project, including what would happen after the twenty-year lifespan of the batteries and whether there would be physical presence of employees at the facility, rather than just monitoring.

The city will revisit this matter at the next commission meeting, with a decision on project continuation to be made in March. This is further evidence that Two Rivers is committed to the development of modern energy solutions that can contribute to the city’s sustainable growth.
