Court Decision on Apple Watch Sales Ban Overturned

In a recently published article, it has been reported that the United States Court of Appeals has temporarily lifted the ban on the sales and import of Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. This news will undoubtedly come as a pleasant surprise to Apple itself and its customers, who will now be able to purchase the full range of Apple Watch watches again.

“We are very pleased that in the new year, we will be able to offer our customers the full range of Apple Watches again,” said an Apple spokesperson.

The Federal District Court of Appeals has decided to suspend the ruling that prohibited the sale of these watch models until Apple’s full appeal is heard. As a result, Apple Watch models will be available for purchase both in selected Apple stores and on the official website. It is expected that all Apple stores will have access to these models starting this coming weekend.

At the moment, it is unknown how long this temporary decision will last. The International Trade Commission (ITC) has until January 10th to respond to Apple’s appeal. It is the ITC that is responsible for Apple having to withdraw both the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 from sale due to an ongoing patent dispute with Masimo, a company that accuses Apple of infringing its patents on blood oxygen sensor technology.

It is worth noting that the final judgment in the patent dispute has not yet been issued. The ban on the sale of Apple Watches has been and continues to be a significant challenge for Apple, affecting both sales and potential repair and replacement services for the watches.

The application for the temporary lifting of the sales ban by the US Court of Appeals, therefore, brings a glimmer of hope for Apple and its customers as it enables the reintroduction of the Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 models to the market.
