GTA 6 – Illegal Leaks and Growing Problem for Rockstar

In recent months, Rockstar Studios has been experiencing tremendous misfortune. Materials related to one of the most highly anticipated games in recent years, GTA 6, have leaked online. Despite this, the company has confirmed that work on the game is ongoing. Recently, just before its release, an official game trailer also leaked online several hours earlier.

Now, additional materials have surfaced online, which appear to have been stolen from Rockstar’s servers. Among them is the full source code of GTA 5, as well as previously unreleased materials such as an early map of the game world. It turns out that GTA 5 was supposed to receive a total of eight independent add-ons, including one focused on the character Trevor. Unfortunately, none of these add-ons were ever released. The company decided to focus on the multiplayer mode GTA Online, which brought in massive profits. For the same reason, development on GTA Tokyo, a separate expansion set in the capital of Japan, was discontinued.

In addition, snippets of source code from the upcoming game GTA 6 have also leaked, along with information about a possible production of Bully 2. Unfortunately, the future of this game is currently unknown. Rockstar also has on its radar the possibility of reviving the game Agent, which was announced in 2009 but never had an official release. There are also reports of a completely new production set in a fantasy world.

Rockstar is now facing a serious problem with the leak of the full source code of GTA 5. It is not yet certain whether the materials that were supposed to appear on the darknet are authentic. If they are, the company is in serious trouble when it comes to combating fraudsters who bypass the security measures of GTA Online, which generates significant profits for the studio.

Young hacker Arion Kurtaj, considered a key member of the Lapsus$ group responsible for the attack on Rockstar and the disclosure of stolen data, has been sentenced to a drastic punishment. Due to his health issues, he will not be sent to prison but will be confined to a psychiatric hospital for an indefinite period of time. This depends on the decision of doctors, who must determine whether he no longer poses a threat to others. Kurtaj had previously declared that he intends to continue his hacking activities after his release.
