Ameryka Łacińska powita Gogoro: elektryczne hulajnogi z wymiennymi bateriami lądują w Chile i Kolumbii

Forget about waiting for your electric scooter’s battery to charge at a charging station. Thanks to a partnership with Copec, Gogoro Smartscooter users will be able to quickly swap batteries at GoStations.

The expansion into Latin America in collaboration with Copec will begin in the second quarter of this year. The plan is to install GoStations at petrol stations in Santiago, Chile and Bogota, Colombia (operated by Copec’s subsidiary, Terpel).

“Implementing the Gogoro battery swapping system in Chile and Colombia is our first entry into two-wheeled electric mobility, which means sustainable mobility will reach even more people,” said Arturo Natho, CEO of Copec. “Collaborating with Gogoro will allow us to expand the benefits of electrification and have a positive impact on people’s lives through this pioneering service in the region.”

Electric Gogoro Smartscooters will also be introduced to these markets at the same time, and battery swapping will be available for both individual users and couriers.

“On average, delivery couriers ride six times more than the average individual user, so enabling these couriers to use intelligent, sustainable electric transportation can have an accelerated impact on cities,” said Horace Luke, CEO of Gogoro.

Gogoro, a Taiwanese company specializing in electric scooters and swappable batteries, has been operating in the domestic market since 2015. Currently, it has thousands of GoStations in Taiwan, China, Israel, Singapore, the Philippines, India, and Indonesia. The company’s first entry into the Latin American market opens up new possibilities for the development of sustainable and environmentally-friendly mobility in the region.
