Day of the Devs Ogłasza Długoterminowe Partnerstwo z Społecznością

The well-known organizers of the independent game festival, Day of the Devs, have announced a significant change for the event: it will now be managed by an independent, nonprofit team supported by the community. While it operated similarly before, the Day of the Devs team has now confirmed the change in order to fully establish the presentation as independent.

Day of the Devs was initially a collaboration between Double Fine and iam8bit, but it became complicated due to Double Fine’s acquisition by Xbox in 2019. Now, the organizing team is removing all ties to other companies to better define the role of the presentation and emphasize the importance of community support and donations.

“Over the past decade, we have shed light on hundreds of games, hosted tens of thousands of people at our live events, and reached millions of viewers through our virtual presentations, all while providing our programs for free – delivering them at no cost to developers and players,” said the Day of the Devs team in their update.

In addition, Day of the Devs has partnered with the charitable organization Legacy Global to enable new sponsorship opportunities, while making it clear that all funds received will be used to support and promote independent game developers in the future.

With this announcement, Day of the Devs has also launched a new charity drive with significant rewards for donors, including digital game codes and physical Day of the Devs merchandise, while revealing three upcoming events for which they are currently raising funds:

– Spring Day of the Devs (Live Event)
– Summer Day of the Devs (Digital Event)
– Winter Day of the Devs (Live and Digital Event)

“Your generous donation will ensure that Day of the Devs can continue organizing incredible events throughout the year. All donation proceeds will directly go toward covering the costs of organizing our numerous shows, starting from our March edition in San Francisco, all the way to our digital showcase as part of the Summer Game Fest, and the Game Awards edition in winter!”

More information about Day of the Devs and plans for future showcases can be found on the Day of the Devs website.
